ALTAR OF BONES: REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

ALTAR OF BONES
BY PHILIP CARTER

ABOUT THE BOOK:
"They didn't have to kill himHe never drank from the altar of bones."

Cryptic dying words from a murdered homeless woman in present day San Francisco unlock a decades-buried secret that changed history. Now a pair of ruthless assassins are sent to cut the few living "loose ends." And a young, resourceful woman on the run encounters a determined man with his own connected past and vengeful agenda. Forced to partner for survival and answers, a fast-paced and deadly game of cat and mouse ensues, taking them across the globe from the winding streets of Paris to the faded palaces of Budapest to the frozen lakes of Mongolia...where destiny, passion, and further betrayal await them.

The Altar of Bones has it all: The Russian mob. KGB spies. Presidential assassination. A doomed Hollywood legend. Deathbed confessions. Corrosive power. Shattered families. Guardians of an ancient religious icon housing a secret others will kill to possess. The dark promise of immortality. And it delivers on its ambitious premise to leave you stunned and breathless at the end.

PRAISE FOR ALTAR OF BONES:
"Comparisons to Steve Berry, Dan Brown, and James Rollins are inevitable and not unmerited. But Carter's Altar is anything but derivative. A corkscrewing, looping roller coaster of a reading experience, it definitely belongs in the hands of thriller fans who crave speed."
-- Booklist (starred review)

"You won't put it down until you get up to walk around and catch your breath."
-- New York Times bestseller Ted Bell

"Altar of Bones is one of the most stunning novels I've ever read. From superbly etched characters to a plot rich with twists and heart-stopping action . . . an incredible reading experience you can't miss."
-- New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter

"[An] action-filled story . . . lots of sex, lots of violence, and lots of plot twists."
-- Kirkus
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Philip Carter is a pseudonym for an internationally renowned author.

GUEST REVIEW:
This book is a mystery thriller embedded into 2 historical conspiracy theories. Fascinating, violent, sexy and controversial, this book grabs hold of you on page 1 and never lets up. First mystery is who is this author? It's a nom de plume for some famous writer, but I couldn't guess, but avid readers of the genre probably will. The action is fairly constant once it gets going, so you will never get bored. But some readers may recoil from the 2 historical events sewn into the plot. I did, but the book was so interesting and intense, I had to keep going. It's not for the faint of heart, but both male and female readers will find something to like here. 2 thumbs up.
