Rigolet, Brussels, Fort McMurray competing for prize

(Courtesy of Roger Shiwak) Residents of Labrador have been keen to see a story from one of their communities done in to a book by children's writer Robert Munsch.The story which takes place in Rigolet, upon a north coast of Labrador, is one of three Canadian stories in a running in an online competition.Munsch's publishing house Scholastic Corp. is land a contest asking people to select which story will end up in print by voting online.About twenty years ago, Munsch visited Rigolet. Resident Roger Shiwak as well as his daughter Cheryl took a teller of tales ice fishing."It was a bit cold you never got any fish, though you tried," said Shiwak.That experience stayed with Munsch as well as a story came out of it. In Munsch's story, a fish catches Cheryl . He's told a story to audiences around a world though it has never been publishedNow which a Rigolet fish story is competing against others from Brussels, Ont., as well as Fort McMurray, Alta., Munsch-mania has gripped a community.At a internal school, teacher Lindsay Wood has been regulating every mechanism class as an event to encourage students to vote online."Every time we mention it to them as well as they remember which it's going on, they scream as well as shout as well as get so excited," said WoodMunsch betrothed to visit a locale if Rigolet wins.The online foe closes Sunday.
